Here’s the thing about advice on how to be awesome – it only seems to work if you’re an unemployed single person with lots of time on your hands and loads of money at your disposal.
I work part-time, I’m a wife, and I’m a mother to a little girl born April 2013. Oh, and I’m Irish. Getting up at 5am to workout, write in a journal, meditate, and enjoy watching the sun come up was never going to be realistic. My house is never in showroom condition, my bank account is never overflowing, and my exercise regime is… currently non-existent. But I’m happy. Content.
So I wanted to share some things that will make you happy and content too – things like how to stay focused when Facebook wants to suck 6 hours out of your day; like how to rock your New Year’s resolutions; like how to keep your house reasonably tidy when you have kids and no cleaner. That sort of thing.
I’m a cynic and a skeptic, so I only share things I’ve tried myself or am going to try. I won’t write posts that, for example, tell you to feng shui your home when I don’t do it myself. I’m also a terrible cook (in my defence, I’m trying to learn) so if you’re looking for delicious recipes, you’ve come to the wrong place!
BUT if you’re looking for REAL-LIFE information on cleaning, organising, saving time and money, mindfulness, positivity, productivity, and general tips and tricks on how to simplify your life, and you want to have a bit of a giggle along the way, then this just may be the path for you! (If you want to know where the site name came from, read my very first post here.)
I hope you enjoy the site, and find lots of useful information and advice – not just from me, but also from commenters. I’m hoping to learn just as much as you are!
